stock 6speed M3 1/4 mile !?

Hi everyone , I was wondering what my car was capable of doing on the 1/4 mile, I know the DCT easily get into the 12s but I never seen a manuel one doing great times. This week-end I finally managed to do a 12.8 and a 12.9 , something I did'nt expected since I had a best time of 13.1 after several runs on several days at the track last year. I'm really happy with that time but that makes me wonder even more if anyone has done better then that!!

12.8 - 13.0 is pretty consistent with what the magazine testers were getting with the 6MT. You really need to get a clean start to be in the 12's with 6MT.

Mid 12's are possible with drag radials for 6mt and 11.9-12.1 with DCT.

yeah probably since I did 12.8 with a 1.9 60foot, but I would've like to ear about others experiences!

Do you have any tips to share? Did you clutch dump in 2nd or just start normally in 1st? Did you shift at 8.3k RPMs into both 2nd and 3rd?

Are there any serious mechanical risks to the car? I thought I saw someone mention the rear diff bolt breaking under similar kind of abuse (or is that only if you clutch dump in 2nd)?

I took my A4 to the drag strip, once (got 15 sec). I'd like to try it in the M3, but not if the risk is high.

I don't think there's any risk(if you launch in first gear) at launching, specially if you have stock tires which don't grip much , even with my 295s AD08s it does'nt feel bad for the car! One tip I can give you is to drop the clutch at around 3000-3500rpm and put the EDC in confort mode so there will be more weight tranfer to the back of the car! And make sure to desactivate the traction control!
