Angeleye is out....

Hey I got a strange issue, the angel eye on the right side went out (Got warning in the iDrive) but when I check the bulb its fine. Also in "automatic" mode the parking light still turns on when I turn right.

Anyone know whats goin on here? Or is this something I have to go to the stealership for??

Sounds like the LCM is acting up. I'm afraid a visit to the dealer is inevitable, or it could be the bulb is slowly dying and needs replacing.

Try swapping the bulbs between sides and see if it doesn't replicate the issue on the other side, if it does, then it's a bad bulb. If not, something is screwy with the LCM.

There is not a LCM present on the e9x chassis, headlight operation is instead controlled by the footwell module (FRM).

There is a possibility the FRM detected a bulb fault and has shut off power to that bulb. Check for power with a multimeter from the AE bulb socket to verify there is power.

If nearby, drop on by and I can check for you - this only takes a few minutes and will save any dealer headaches.

I havent tried swapping the bulbs, will try that first. Thanks tom for the offer, Im heading to SD in a couple hours so probably wont be able to make it there. Though I do appreciate the offer. Either way I may just break out the multimeter this sunday when I have time to check it myself. Thanks for the ideas. Definitely appreciate it.

Bump, having identical symptoms on my 09 E92; searched and found this thread.

Getting persistent diagnostic call out on left, then right DRL/ parking lamps. I checked car when parked and right side angel eye was in fact inoperative.

Will set up a call to dealership for a service appt next week.

Which brand is it? I had a similar situation 2 weeks ago. I had used that very reputable AE kit for only 3 months. Very disappointed.
