Smaller/lighter, for sure.

You guys will laugh, but for a while I had a '06 Civic coupe. That car was a lot of fun. Revved high and really zipped around. The M3 is a heavy beast, comparatively. But of course it roars like mad when you want it to.

my next car will be along the lines of a Miata / S2000 / Boxster (i need a rag top ) or a Shelby Roadster replica... light AND monster power
400hp is not enough for ALOT of people on the streets, especially me.

I can go either way since I own 2 cars.

For track use I'd go with an Exige with nimbleness around the corner and good power on the straight.

For daily I'd go with a C63 P31 with its brutal power and smooth AT.

If I had to choose between 2 cars.

I would get the nimble lighter car first.

Then...

after 2-3 years, buy the second heavier more powerful car.

Keep both.

GT-R hands down!
Call me crazy but if you put a GT-R next to a Ferrari 458, id still take the GT-R.

Classy, yet brutally fast.
I have to agree with this, to DD my AMG is far better than my M3

it's impossible for me to always answer either 1 or 2.

just in the example above, i would pick the M3 over the M6, but the GTR over the Cayman

definitely a larger car with power. It is so nice to be able to cruise on the highway. besides when you want to get twisty with it you can just hustle it!

given that we are all M3 drivers, we are clearly all 1.5's, at least at the point of purchasing our M3's.

So one of the main reasons I posted this question originally was to get a feel for where one goes for a car after the M3. It honestly seems like no matter what you do, something will get compromised. In the end, maybe this is exactly why the M3 is legendary. Is there any car that does everything the M3 does better than the M3?

I've run both Blizzaks and Pilot Alpins - both have been great in the snow, but the Michelins handle better.
