Arrow F/S 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 - 6 Speed - Billet Metallic

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None
Item Interest
Up for sale is my 2011 challenger SRT8 392 in 6 speed manual. It's Billet Metallic with 11,000 miles on it. The engine is stock, and is the new 470 hp and 470 ft/lb of torque 6.4L aka 392 Cubic Inch Hemi. It's a lightly optioned stripe delete car I had special ordered, and has no sunroof. Excellent condition, single owner. Stock wheels and tires have less than 100 miles total use ever on them so are basically brand new.

Price drop to $35,500!

Car is located in Costa Mesa, CA.

That's odd. Anyone else unable to see the pics? Here's a new one to test.

Selling because I'm ordering a Audi TT-RS to do something totally different. I guess I decided I don't enjoy the comfy cruiser with crazy power concept as much as I thought I would... I'm young enough that I don't need the space and comfort of a Grand Tourer yet at this point in my life. The TT-RS is obviously edgier and more like a race car!

In comparison to an M3, I can best compare it to an E46 since I currently own one. I'll give my opinion compared to an E92 as well keeping in mind I've only driven it about 5 times.

The Challenger SRT8 in 6 speed manual is a true big muscle car. It's built using a lot of the same platform and components as the previous generation Mercedes E class... a legacy of Mercedes owning Chrysler in the recent past. To me the Challenger SRT8 has always been like owning a Mercedes AMG in the sense I had always wanted a C63 or E63 AMG in 6 speed manual but since Mercedes doesn't offer that transmission I had to look elsewhere. The Challenger has the same performance upsides as the brutes from AMG although obviously lacks some of the refinement and luxury. However, especially with the huge sidewall 18's I put on it the Challenger it is very comfy on the road.

On a highway pull it's a monster and sounds glorious. It's going to crush most cars including the E92 M3 in this test stock vs stock. It should pull about equal with a C63/E63 AMG. This car has the new for 2011 6.4L aka 392 Ci. engine rated from the factory (dynos show under rated) at 470hp and 470 ft.lbs. This engine is a beast and the stock exhaust sounds mean but subdued until you really get on it... then It just sounds mean and angry!

Anyways, in terms of handling the Challenger isn't going to hold up to either the E46 or E92 M3. But nothing else really does in this segment as tests vs the C63 and RS4/RS5 have shown. The handling though definitely surprised me as I can place it really confidently and the car feels like it weighs less than it does when it comes to steering response and control. Obviously you can't totally hide those extra pounds, but for its size and spaciousness the car really shines.

I bought the Challenger because I already had an E46 M3 and wanted to do the big V8 thing. It has so much more torque, especially down low, compared with either M3 its astonishing. The car just goes at any RPM above 1,500-2,000 like a rocket. So it's not really a direct comparison to the M3. It's much more a direct comparison to a C63/E63 AMG, and if you like those car's but really want a 6 speed manual and a much more affordable price point... there's really not anything else out there.
