Wow, you are the king of clean.

My husband calls me pretty obsessed ("OMG, there's a scratch!"), but the reality is mine is a DD and I don't have the energy.

So my plan is:

- Hand wash only (even in winter).
- In winter, spray off the gunk and salt with the soapy spray (only) at the local (but quality) coin-op approx. weekly.
- In winter, have the under-body rinsed by the automatic under-body spray at the local coin-op - approx. weekly.
- Complete hand wash, clay, seal at least twice a year - esp. after winter.
- Interior: vacuum & clean carpets, clean and seal (glossy) wood trim, clean/condition leather quarterly or as needed

I've done this with my other cars (mostly, unless it was real cold out) and I'm generally told my cars look still look new after several years.

If I'm doing something that would be bad to my car, let me know...

And finally, how do you wash the engine bay? I'd be afraid to short circuit something or another...

I usually vacuum the interior and wash and dry every week. My process includes cleaning the wheel barrels and exhaust tips. I dress the interior every few weeks. I also do a full detail (clay/polish/sealant) twice a year. I do this for my car and my wife's car. I find it therapeutic.
