New: APEX EC-7 Wheel - clears Brembo 380 BBK

Hi if I was to Order a set of ec-7 as soon as I can could they be shipped to Australia by the 30th next month? And what would be the best set up for the track with a ess vt650 supercharger kit

Which particular sizes and finishes are you interested in? As long as we have them available in your desired sizes and finish, we can get a set of your wheels to you by the 30th of September without a problem!

For a track setup with a supercharger, we would recommend the 18x10" ET25 with 265/35/18 or 285/30/18 in front and 18x11" ET25 295/30/18 in the rear for maximum traction for your added power from the ESS Supercharger kit.

If you don't want to run as wide as an 18x11" wheel in the rear, the other option is to do the 18x9.5" ET22 with a 265/35/18 in front and 18x10.5" ET27 with a 285/35/18 in the rear.

id like the most grip so the 10 and 11'' combo would be best! if i was to run a 285 front would that rub and what tires would you use an r888 toyo?

With a 285/30/18 R888 is a little short, but you can have those on the 18x10" ET25 if you max out your camber with the OEM mounts. You may need a spacer to have the tire clear your strut tube though.

The R888s tend to run a little wider than most other tires, but they are a very popular tire. R888s are great R-compounds, but we also like the Nitto NT01 that do not run more true to size.

The KW Clubsports have camber plates so that would be helpful for you to run the 285/30/18 tire on the 18x10" ET25 wheels. You may need a small 5mm spacer to push the tire away from the strut tube though so that the tire doesn't rub onto the strut, as long as your spring perch is higher than the wheel and tire.

I mounted 265/35 Falken Azenis RT-615K tires on my new 10" ET25 EC-7 wheels and I have at least a couple mm of clearance through the whole steering range!

I should note that I only performed this test while the car was parked. Tomorrow, I will try driving a few feet between each step of the steering wheel.

Thank you! I'm really happy to be on 265/35R18's in front. Ride quality is improved over stock (thanks to 7mm extra sidewall height) but still feels planted and provides good road feel.

And with the risk of bending a wheel greatly reduced, I can now proceed with my suspension upgrades.

Here are some pics that were just taken!

EC-7 in Anthracite Finish. These were the test wheels we had available it's not the ideal stagger, and the tires are mounted in reverse.

18x10" ET25 with 275/35/18 R888
18x11" ET27 with 295/30/18 R888. Note the car had a 10mm spacer in the rear from the stock wheels, which was stuck. These photos are basically of an 11" rear with an ET17 offset because of this. It should not be run with a spacer in the real world.

So for a E90 ZCP M3 with Brembo 380mm Front and Rear, I should go for 18x9.5mm & 18x10.5mm with 265/35 & 285/35?

Will it have a similar stance to the E92 in these pics?

The car in those photos was using an 18x10" ET25 in the front but there are other factors that are making the wheel/tire poke out more than it normally would on a correctly fitted car and the fitment on it is not recommended by us.

1. It is equipped with KW V3 coilovers and the wheel/tire was hitting the spring before fully seating onto the hub making it look as if the wheel is poking more than it actually should be.
2. It is also equipped with a 275/40/18 Toyo R888 tire that is too tall of a fitment for the front of an E9x M3. This appears bulged out on the 18x10" ET25 making the wheel/tire setup again look as if it has more poke than it actually should.
3. A 10mm spacer was also stuck on the rear hubs making the 18x11" rear wheel have an effective offset of ET15!

The set up on this car was purely a test fitment to get some photos of the wheels out there for you guys.




This photo gives you a better idea of how 18x9.5" ET22 and 18x10.5" ET27 looks on E9x M3's. A much better fitting wheel/tire setup.



Another option is to use the 18x10" ET25 in the front with either a 275/35/18 tire and an 18x11" ET25 in the rear with a 295/30/18 tire. This is the fitment we suggest for E9x M3 owners looking for maximum width. Below is a picture of how that fitment would look.

I should have clarified further, I was referring to the wheel width and offset looking the same. The tire sizes are different in the picture from what I suggested but will fit on those size wheels. Either 265/35/18 in the front and 285/35/18 in the rear or 275/35/18 in the front and 295/30/18 in the rear are good sizes with the second option being the maximum tire width we suggest for E9x M3's.

285/30/18 is definitely also a great tire to be used in the square configuration or in the front of the car. It has great width and it's sidewalls are very short which makes it a great tire for maximum width fitment where clearances are tight. Some people do not prefer the look of the tire since it is very short but it performs really well and can improve acceleration slightly because of how short the sidewall is. The only other drawback is that the size is not as popular as the 275/35/18 in R-Compound and Extreme Performance tires.
