And the fun begins

So I just dropped my m3 for the 1200 mile service. I can't wait to get it back. I got a nicely equipped 2012 x5 diesel to carry me over, it feels like I'm the captain of a ship in that thing. I can't wait to do some hpde events in my car.

Congratulations!

I remember how tough the first 1200 miles were when I got mine. Now you'll really get a chance to have some fun!

I broke the rules a little. But aren't rules meant to be broken?

Congrats, welcome to the party. Plenty of HPDE in the midwest, hope to see you out there.

Why the wait ... service only takes 3 hours. Oil change, road test for break check ... if your car is MT make sure they changed your transmission oil as well. Some dealers don't know that it must be changed.

He should not go wild after the 1,200 mile (2,000 KM) service. If you read the manual properly you will find that there are also precautions to be taken for a while after the breakin period. Check your manual.

Yeah, no kidding. 1200 is silly enough. There is not one thing on a car that requires that much break in time and I defy anyone to show otherwise with any kind of real data other than "because I said so" from BMW.

I think you should start a thread about this.
