I never do a loaner after I was falsely accused of curb rashing one of my loaner's wheels by the cranky finance lady. Took a talk with the service manager to convince them i didn't do it. Luckily I live close enough to walk home to pick up our other car (when it's not in the shop, damn Audi).

having a 328 or 335d as a loaner actually makes me appreciate the brand even more as i say to myself. damn this is a car i could be happy with as well. they still handle very well just a little less go. as far as the 335d i loved the extra torque.

everything is relative. of course the m3 is many times faster and better in every category compared to a 328. i actually have both. i DD the 328 in norcal and occasionally drive the m3 in LA and every time I get in the M, I fall in love with it again. but all the other times I'm in the 328, I love it for what it is.

There will always be something faster and better. people just have to learn to be content with what they have (or what others have. i.e those with 328 or "shittier" cars) and stop being dicks just becuz u have something better.

Pointless...why make a thread showing how much of a dick you can be. Then people respond pointing this out and others think the forum is full of a-holes. Reminds me of a lady complaining after dropping off her C-class because we all had to go offsite for loaners. The loaner was whatever non-mb cars they had. She called some friend to complain. Others don't get loaners, let alone a free one. Just be happy you have that "problem".

At least you got a BMW loaner. I was offered a rental VW JETTA with its CHECK ENGINE LIGHT on at all time. I drove it for 20 mins and went back to the dealer just to hang around waiting for my car that whole afternoon.

328 shitty???? really??? cause the M3 has a COMPLETELY different Interior........................... I think these people are so disconnected as to what a shitty car feels like.... go try and drive an actual sub 15k$ new car, then we will see how bad you will rag on the 328.

328 Driver?

I would love a 328 as a daily driver, especially the new one with the 2,0.

I agree, some folks are a bit ridiculous when it comes to slamming other cars. Hell, even Hyundai has come a long way from their beginning. ( My first car was a 1987 Hyundai Excel 4 door....power baby!)

I actually think Leatherette is pretty smart. BMW's is pretty nice. Good if you have kids/dog.

As for the power.. at least in the last generation, I think you're missing out on the "BMW" experience a bit if you get an N52. I know that might sound like snobbery, but I'm not saying they are bad vehicles. In fact they are excellent, with the new turbo 4 being a really attractive DD.

Just saying that there is a point in these cars where the chassis has just the right amount of power for them to be really fun.

The 328 is certainly not a "shitty" car. Of course it isn't on par with the M3, but it's not really supposed to be... If you're on that high of a horse that the 328 is "shitty" and nothing compares to your M, then you're a straight douche.

The new 3 series is actually very nice. I like the lines of the car a lot. It's very driveable everyday IMO.

I love when people try to create car class warfare. So you paid 30k more and it's nicer? L1k3 OMG, how did that happy???

For what it is, (entry level sporty/luxury) the 328i is a nice car.

Ill raise you one sir...

When my car needs to go in for service I drive my truck with my road bike in the back to the dealer. I then leave my truck, ride my bike home and drive my M back to the dealer. After I drop my car off in service my truck is waiting there for me! lol I cant stand dealing with loaner cars or waiting for rides, there is always a better way!

Good one

I've done that too only I drive my M3 with the back seats folded down and the bike in the back (front wheel removed it has wing nuts) so the bike is right there for me. Mind you I only do that in the summer time

I need to post a comp of M3 vs 335d: both great in very diff ways

I feel mostly the same way. The higher model in a "lower tier" car is usually nicer than the entry level model for an "upper tier" car.

I would probably get a loaded up Nissan Maxima SE, for instance, over a 328. The BMW X5 5.0 is a superior choice, IMO, to the base model Porsche Cayenne at the same price, etc.

Personally, I don't think the loaner thing should only apply to cars. Whenever my wife leaves town for something her business should give me a loaner until she gets back, and it can't be a lesser model either. I shouldn't have to be seen with a big fattie. I'm not asking for a supermodel or anything, just something comparable to the model I already have.
