Circling back to this...

I picked up my car today. The recall was for the DCT software, which I had the latest version of and thus didn't need to get an update. It was not for any other software, so I didn't get flashed.

damn... soo they prob wont do that on a 6MT huh.

I'm going in next Thurs for a few issues and have asked them to update the software.

Is this accurate = E89x-11-03-511 = 231

I think the most recent integration level is: E89x-12-03-502. That's what I got when I was updated in April.

Should be 220e. Atleast that was what I was told on the prior page.

Dealer has ISTA/P 46.3 or 46.4 now. That's the last version of this particular programming system. It switches to a new one as of v47.

The last DCT update was back when the recall was performed around ISTA/P 41, so if you were updated in the last few months I wouldn't expect a change in the DCT software.

Can i get more info on DCT recall, my car was updated sometime last year and every time i move or re-park my car i need to put on my seat-belt before it will stay in gear, does anyone know if the dealership will update my DCT software under the recall?.

Just talked to my local BMW dealer about this and the service advisor was very nice about it when i told him that i have seen and read that there is a noticable (through dyno before/after) increase in 2008/2009 hp once upgraded to 231E and he said that he would do the software update IF I did some research and found a valid reason for wanting the upgrade (in other words some other issue that the 231E update could fix that isnt just increased HP)...can someone lend me a hand here...I could look through the entire thread but not sure I saw anyone gave a reason why someone would want to get this done otherwise (and I have a 6MT not a DCT).

This would mean you're already on 46.2.

If you were down here, I could hook up the Autologic and check. You can always contact Mike Benvo and he could set you up with a remote session to see what your car has on it.

Autologic can perform updates on various control modules, including DCT.

Should have been corrected with 46.3 (CAS misalignment error), but have not seen any followups.

Yes, either of us can. Autologic does not do it remotely though.

For DCT owners with cars manufactured from 2008 to 8/31/2010 there is a service bulletin SI B28 01 10 that requires software update. I will try this at the dealer and let you all know if it worked.
