squeaky brakes, only 17k miles...just started days ago

Is this common? I'm assuming pads would be replaced under warranty if need be right?

Read through searching that some people say the low speed squealing is normal and others said no, many said to bed the brake pads which I will try....just weird how this just started seemingly today

Squeaky doesn't mean worn. Sounds like you might be under using your brakes. Read up on bedding them....assuming you see that you have plenty of pad left.

The brakes tend to glaze slightly if not used aggressively from time to time. This generally manifests itself with a squeaky sound particularly as you slowly come to a stop at say a stop sign or light.

This is normal but can be a symptom of driving your high performance M3 like it was a Honda.

DBH, is re-bedding the brakes a solution for this? I don't use the brakes aggressively at all really so you may be right

Keep in mind that this is not really a problem unless the squeaking bothers you. First, just make sure that your brake pads are not worn down (this shouldn't be the problem with only 17k easy miles.). Yes, bedding in the brakes should solve the problem...temporarily. If you continue to drive (brake) without aggression, the squeak will return.

I picked up a used M3 a few weeks ago and noticed the squeaking right away when breaking real soft at 5-10mph. Was getting a little embarrassed pulling into parking lots with people around. After a few hard stomps on the brakes at 40-50mph. Squeaking is no longer an issue

Yes, re-bedding the brakes almost always gets rid of squealing brakes.
