Help... steering wheel peeling

My steering wheel is peeling off, and part of the wrap (?), is gone. Is this something the dealership would replace under warranty?

I think I read somewhere on here that this was happening to some people and it was fixed under warranty.

Correct. Some people have been able to get it covered by warranty.

It seems they have not got this worked out!? It happened on my e46 on the center console. BMW applies a matte/flat coating to a gloss surface... never gonna last.

Darn, this is starting to happen to me but I'm out of warranty with 57k.

Ah well. I rarely notice.

I have had it replaced before and a couple of my friends have also.

If it's under 40K miles and 4 years they should replace it.

Known issue at the dealer level and should be repaired under warranty. Typically only the trim piece is replaced, not the entire wheel.

The covers are fairly cheap and easy to replace. Shouldn't be too big of a deal

Mine was just replaced. You won't get a rubber coated replacement...it will be hard plastic.
