Talking Michelin PilotSuperSport | V8TT - My Suggestion

just installed pilot super sports on the 2012 CLS63 AMG.

Ive put 8600 miles on the stock continentals. my review; they're horrible. With the performance package it's hard to get the car going off the line.

I lost complete grip of the rear end going 70mph. scary sh*t, but i was able to counter-steer and keep it going straight (my little track experience coming in handy)

I could only imagine with a tune; there's no way they would ever hookup to the ground.

A lot of people say "modulate the throttle" which i agree with, but then what's the point.

So now that i'm ready for some more power (not sure where to start perhaps a tune) i though i should upgrade my tires.

After owning a few sets of the pilot super sports i decided to go with them again on the V8TT CLS. my opinion; they're the best all around tires on the market.

The pilot super sports grip and grip and grip forever and ever. from a stop i can floor it and it handles the power perfectly.

I guaranty if i raced my exact car with the old tires i'd destroy it, around a bend and in a straight line.

120 miles later i haven't seen the traction light come on once! i did 295 on the rear compared to the 285 stock setup, so that might have something to do with it.

Yep. I'm tempted to replace the PZero's on my new M3 with PSS's. I had the PSS's on my last M3 and it's the best tire I've had on any of my M3's. The PSS is top dog in my book.

Yeah, I guess PZero's were the flavor of the day for mine...I wonder when the PSS will start making the rotation.

I will be replace my contis soon on my M3, I will run two track event in May, and two in October. Should I change to AD08 for the performance or PSS? I will not drive my car from June to August cuz I'm not in US.

Will PSS last longer on the track compare to AD08? Cuz 295 PSS cost 400 a tire!

They are already OEM on the new F10 M5, F13 M6, and the M135i. So my guess is that they will be OEM on the next M3 too!
