Daaayum! I expected mixed reviews but you guys HATE it!! Really don't think it looks all that bad, definitely a step up from what it was but I've been told that I am weird before.

I've decided to go ahead and paint the whole thing. Looked at it for awhile. Anyways, thanks for all input.

Someone mentioned it turning to ash gray; it wont. This stuff is suitable for headers and temperatures above 1500 fahrenheit. One guy on here has had his painted for a year and it's still the same. It's called VHT Flameproof Coating.

I'd recommend going over the spot one more time with a some Dupli Low Gloss 500 degree paint, or semi gloss (a little bit more glossy) Once you get that high temperature base paint laid down on the exhaust, notice how even flat or black paints still have that shade on grey. Thats just how the high temp black dry on metal. Get the base real good on the exhaust, several coats, and than add a final coat or two of whichever finish you like. IMO that will hold up just fine on the exhaust.

HAHA it's all i can do to take photos of the finished product itself; i'm too damn lazy. i'm painting the entire thing today and she's kinda pissed that i didnt do it that way the first time. guess she doesn't understand the experiment?

Looking to do the same to mine as I had the tips powder coated black. How would it look on AW? Anyone with an AW done this yet?
