CF carbon fiber interior trim?

I'm not really interested in the CF style leather trim which is available exclusive to the upcoming M3. I assumed the M3 interior would be more or less similar to the current E92 3 series, is there any CF trim available for the current E92 3series yet? Hamann? ACS? other?

I know Hartge has a full real carbon fiber trim.

ACS has silver CF trim, including the steering wheel cover.

Actually, I was at my "local" BMW dealership this weekend and had a chance to see carbon leather trim in real life. It is not unique to the upcoming M3, but rather available right now on the M coupe.

The hard top version of the M coupe I saw had black leather interior with black carbon leather, and I was very impressed by the trim. I had thought I would prefer the shiny carbon fiber of the M6 over this leather pattern, but in real life the matte finish of the leather blends in seamlessly with the interior.

Unless the wood trim looks beautiful, I am planning on ordering my alpine white E92 with bamboo beige and carbon leather trim now that I've seen it in person.

The ACS trim looks really good (minus the steering trim, that is), I've seen it in one of the motor show thread. The CF weave is very unique, not the normal 2x2 or 1x1 CF weave. If the price is right, I will go with the ACS trim. Or else I might just go with the black piano wood trim.

Guess I'll have to see the leather trim in real life. But it has to look really good to change my mind.

Hartge has real carbon fiber trim, as will many other aftermarket suppliers I'm sure. As stated above, the carbon leather looks pretty good in person, much better than in the dash pictures from the BMW site. Just go to your dealer and check it out on the M coupe. I think I like it better than the plasticy look of the real stuff. I also think the whole carbon fiber as trim thing is very close to being played out, frankly....before long it will be on the dashboards of Kia's...

+1 on CF trim is close to being played out.
Thats why I have my eye on the ACS CF trim, its has a different CF weave. Maybe thats why it cost $3,500.....how much additional cost do BMW charge for the CF style leather (I assumed it is offered as an option, not standard)?

One thing I dislike about the leather trim is that it is only for the dashboard, and the door panel and the trim around the gearbox are all plastic. Looks kinda incomplete.

actually, the cf leather is on the doors. the surface around the shift boot is black leather, not plastic.

Yes, I do agree with you.

I just hope the driving dynamics of the car are enough to make me purchase the M3, otherwise its the Audi coupe or Porsche for me!

Question CF-effect leather: durability?

Can anyone comment on the durability of the leather trim? It looks great in the flesh, but my dealer suggested that it might be a little fragile... What's the deal?

My brother is a car designer and lives in Germany. I am told that all interior materials (leather, dash plastic, colors chosen etc) must demnonstrate some significant durability and fade resistance. Also, if you tint your windows...less sun damage.

Well, I like CF in the interior, especially when that is tastefully combined with Alcantara and Napa leather. The carbon-leather inserts are nice and are indeed better looking than anything BMW has offered before other than IMO real CF trimming. But CF is more expensive than the carbon-leather. For instance, check these pics of interiors out, only as examples of course; these are not BIMMERS:

Why doesn't the M3 have the CL trim extended on the center console like the Z4 has? The regular 3-series has the specified trim extended there as well.
Weird choice that BMW decided to make it just black leather.
