Best pads for 380mm Brembo bbk

I got this nice little package in the post Today.

The quality is superb and the look Huge!! Really looking forward to getting them fitted. Rears to follow as funds allow.











Does anyone know what the standard pads are like that come with the Gran Turismo kit? I am not after ultimate performance. Something close to stock will be fine but I would like low dust as well.

I never track the car and admit they are more cosmetic than anything else so please don't flame me.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

The pads that come with the set perform well on the street and on the track. I know the Brembo pads are pretty expensive to replace, so I will most likely look into some alternatives once the time comes.

are the GT brembos the best brembos for a street going m3? highly doubt i will ever track my care more than a few times

Standard pads are similar to the Ferrodo 2500 (well, at least here in the US). These pads work nicely with the Brembo and unless you're going to switch out for track, these will be more than enough.

There is less dust than stock, however it tends to come off in bigger black chunks compared to the oem dust.

Great choice on the Brembo Gran Turismo 380mm Kit!

I bet you were surprised when those four boxes came with all of the items pre-torqued and literally ready to install out of the box directly on to your car!

The Brembo organic compound is well suited for aggressive street driving and light track use. It actually features the largest pad shape and volume in the industry. All of which combines to have the longest lasting BBK component setup in the industry.

There are other race compounds available, but about 95% of our customers were pretty content with the pads that came with the kit.

What pads do you guys recommend for the track for novice group? Stick with the brembo street pads or swap them out?

OP, congrats on the brakes! Looking back I wish I went slotted instead of x-drilled.

The Brembo street pads that come with the kit is suitable for light track duty. Just remember to refresh your fluids and check the amount of material left on your pads before diving into your first corner.

Anybody have recommendation for track pads for the brembo GT 6 pot and 4 pot rear? Brembo pads aren't that great, dont last more than a couple track sessions and are $400 bucks.

Hawk DTC 70 and DTC 60 - do not use anything else...

The pads that come with US Brembo kits are OEM Ferodo 2500s. Great, great pad. It does dust a lot, and its not a track pad. But for beginners on the track and street driving - its great.

I do have a solution for people that like less dust AND track their cars. Although I do not have the part numbers, any qualified Brembo dealer will figure this out for you. Brembo offers ceramic pads in street and race compounds. These pads are compatible with each other - you can swap between them WITHOUT rebedding. Additionally, since they are ceramic, the street pads dust much less and the pad dust is gray instead of black.

Also, most Brembo dealers will include ANY Brembo pad with your order at no extra charge. So, you can get the street ceramic pads instead of 2500s and add the track ceramics in your initial order.

PFC01s or Pagid 29s for the track, Brembo or Hawk ceramic for low dust street pads.

Elaborate please. Do you have direct track experience with them? Specs?
Pagids are expensive and I actually prefer PFCs. Try porterfield brakes. They can even add compounds to backing plates if you don't find exactly what you need. Zeckenhause (sp?) racing can also usually get everything at good prices.

Im actually shocked at the difficulty in finding good track pads for these Brembos....I thought everyone made pads for them....maybe they do but nobody seems to sell them. Dave Z has either the Ferodo or Hawks. No PFCs or Pagids. Who sells porterfields?

Sorry I meant try porterfield brakes as a source pagids and Performance frition pads. http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/
They can get you pretty much anything and if it isn't made you can send them some blanks and they can adhere any pad material you want. You'll have to call and talk to them though as their website is terrible.
