I must have missed this. Where did Mike from Triangle state that there was a problem and that he had warned ADV.1 against using the parts?

His language could have been tweaked but his points were valid.

This is for the manufacturing side not the retail side.

ADV said NOT me! and now its been 5 weeks. So whats up?
According to them these wheels were installed in 2010 and are out of warranty
It's now 2012
Assuming they were put on on December 31st in 2010
And now we're in march 2012
That's still over 1 year
They have stated that the parts hold up is due to having one manufacturer that makes these parts in the entire US
Without this part, they can't get you a replacement wheel
What's hard to understand about that?

If being here makes my company look bad than so be it. I have enough positive reviews all over the place to more than back my integrity.

Trust me, if I think ADV.1 was screwing with Eugene or its customers I would be the first to put them on blast. If you don't believe me, do a search for Automotif Wheels and Acute Performance in Google.

Also, I don't believe in backing out of threads because it will make my company look bad. I don't believe in the political/PR crap. I will speak and defend where I see fit.

ok if things are not in stock! I don't think its too hard to communicate to the customer . correct?! or am I wrong? or there is not customers service involved.
noted on the warranty part I can't find my records on emails since I changed one.

According to both the OP and ADV
They did agree to replace the wheel AFTER the warranty had expired
What more could you ask of them?

He's just complaining its taking too long
And they are saying there is a shortage of a part that they don't make

This thread has diverged into two separate issues:

(1) Bad communication between ADV.1 and Eugene which I 100% agree with.
(2) Manufacturer defects

A customer who buys a 22" wheel described as "Track Spec" should understand he or she is responsible any and all consequences of the decision to mount non-standard rolling stock, up to and including not being able to drive his/her Cayenne on hellaflush dubbadubs for a couple extra weeks.

This thread is comedy gold. M3post A+ would read again

And it's actually right to blame Dell in part for the HDD failure, because as a reputable system dealer, they are responsible for qualifying the components they use and maintaining quality control of the components that go into their systems. Do you have any idea the amount of time and effort a company like Dell expends in qualifying parts that go into their systems? ... But I guess you wouldn't know anything about being a reputable dealer

I guess your right in some sort of a way.

I wonder if the defect raw material does effect sizes in 19's

Yes they should have told you it might take 3-5 weeks
But they also could have told you, your warranty has expired, and you're on your own
No?
So they are trying to fix the problem

Whether they knew of a manufacturing defect or not, or your friend was abusing the wheels, we'll never know.
But something broke, out of warranty, and they offered to replace it, at no cost to you
It's taking longer than you want
But I can't see how they can remedy this any faster, if their supplier is not providing them with the parts

No matter how much stink you cause here
If they ain't got the part, they're not shipping it to you

Yes, God forbid they actually have a second source for their components/materials like the big boys do ...

I actually work in IT
And I can tell you you're giving dell way too much credit
BMW did the same thing with the Siemens HPFP
Or do you think BMW did not check the quality of their parts suppliers
In which case why are you driving one?

I'm sure BMW gave the specs to Siemens
And did initial quality control
And the parts passed inspection
But I'm sure somewhere along the the line
Either Siemens dropped the ball, or as in this case, one of their suppliers did
And the parts where not up to spec
Things like this happen in all industry, but if the manufacturer offers to fix it
That's good enough in my book

Well according to them, there is only one parts supplier in the entire US
If its taking longer than 3 weeks to get the part from the US
Can you imagine how long it would take if it was an international supplier?

The issue here isn't only how ADV1 is handling this with the customer, its also how they handled this from the beginning when the manufacture (triangle) told them this would be an issue from the get go and they still sold the wheels. Unless adv is denying this (which they haven't), I have no reason to doubt what nowaym3 has said so far.

Yes things fail around us all the time. This however is different from your iPad not turning on or your fuel pump dying on you. This is like you using your iPad and without any misuse or warning your glass screen shatters in your hand or your fuel pump blows up during use. Both failures but very very different IMO.
