Oh I see, you want to ruin the S65 by adding some turbos.. There was this:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=628602
What versus adding a supercharger. Go look at manhart and tell me they ruined the m3. Love the v8 and really like turbos vs. supercharges any ways was just wondering about it anyways right I love my car as it is but one day want to start modding it.

I strongly doubt it. I think they do use the same bore center (100mm) but I doubt the head bolt pattern is the same. And even if it were, there would probably a whole host of other issues to overcome (like timing assembly).

Even if it did somehow fit, your dct is toast if you put that engine in there.

Really? So you prefer lag over instant response... And no wonder why BMW is going for all turbo in their M cars..

It will fit according to the Manhart MH3....

Would assume you would need the transmission for it as well but how is the DCT in the F10 compare to ours? Whats different that its able to work with the M5s numbers...

not even a debate worth going in to.. If you don't see the benefits of turbocharging, with all due respect, read a book.. Superchargers on these cars are not roots blowers, so they're not "instant response" either.

I know the benefits of turbos. I also know their disadvantages. Everyone has their own preferences.. Let's leave it there..

There are a number supercharged M3s with DCT. And there are a few places out there that know how to beef up the transmission. You could also swap in the M5/M6 DCT, although that would obviously cause costs to rise dramatically.

The gtr has bad lag? The 997 turbo has bad lag? The gt2 has lag?

Come on man. Properly done turbo cars are fun to drive.

oh i should check out that watch thread too, i'm sure there are some really "insightful" comments. i'm still on WUS, and unfortunately it's causing the watch hunting to get a little crazy. in fact i'm going down to the mall today to look at the aqua terra 8500 lol.

A supercharged s65 has significantly less torque that the s63. The dct in the m3 is the same used in the 335is, and that car tuned with full bolt ons makes the dct slip...

Is it really the same DCT?

IIRC, the DCT in the IS is the same as in the Z4

My Z4 DCT is not the same as the M3 one....

I've driven a IS, and the DCT is not nearly as good as the one in the M3

+1 ..Porsche w/o a doubt leading the way.

Arguable are a car like my former Saab had turbo lag yes..but turbo technology has come a long way

They are more efficient than superchargers and when tuned to spool properly really cant be beat

This is where performance engines are heading.

Both of them have the same torque limits, so if the fbo n54 would make it slip, undoubtebly the s63 would make it slip

I've seen supercharged DCT M3s on this forum in the ~450ft-lb flywheel torque range. That's a lot more than stock, but yes it is nevertheless about 10% less than an S63. That is why I mentioned getting the DCT internals upgraded if necessary. There are posts on this forum about such things, such as from SSP.
