I can't believe this thread is still going.

First of all, what is "Beat" a C63. The OP (with 8 post I might add) didn't clearly say anything ... straight line, corners, from start/rolling stop, or anything like that. Not that this matters in any way, because a driver's skill comes into play as well.

Second, the C63 and SLS don't share the same engine. The block is only part of the few things that are the same. Pistons, compression, tune and many other things are different. You can't just slap on some headers exhaust and tune and get 120 hp bump out of it. Right Ashtaron? .... btw how did you firgure out that you have 571hp .... engine dyno?

Finally, If the OP is so concerned about speed and acceleration, why didn't you buy a steel shell and but a large displacement pushrod engine in it. That would have beaten a C63 for sure. What I'm trying to say, is that the M3 is so much more than just a toy that is supposed to go fast in a straight line. There are many finer things about the M3 that makes it so much more special than the idea of beating a C63 (whatever that means). Even if the C63 was capable of out cornering the M3 I still wouldn't consider buying one because its ugly.

so im assuming straight line.... bolt on will not get you close to a C63... get a SC...

but on the track...

get

1. suspension...
2. get good tires...
3. driving lesson...
4..................... WIN......................

full exhaust and tune should do the trick.

Some of you really like getting technical lol...All his listed tunes are hp related and nothing to do with suspension. That's not enough to tell you he's interested in faster straight line acceleration? M3 already beats it on turns, duh. Also, it's obvious he bought the M3 for many reasons (looks, hp, handling, status, etc). He just wants a few more ponies to shut his cousin up. Kinda like when you train with a buddy and wanna be able to bench press more than he can while you can also do gymnastics but he can't lol. Basically beat him in every category.

Really? Last few videos I checked, stock M3-DCT and C63 (2008-2011) are pretty even. No?

Come on men , is it possible to buy a M3 and wanting it to go faster in a straight line then a stock or even then a C63 without getting that bs like " you bought the wrong car if you want straight line performance " ,I drive a stock M3 manuel and I find it fast in straight line , I can only imagine how fast a DCT with FBO would be , probably as fast as a stock C63 or faster !

Will that be enough to beat a C63?
Depends.

If if the C63 in question is a stock, 451 HP earlier model, I believe you may have a bit of an advantage with your mods (including exhaust). If it's a later model with the wet clutch (no more torque converter), you may be able to stay about even with him, or at least quite close.

If he has the performance package (under rated at 481 HP), forget it, especially if it's a current model.

That upgraded transmission makes a definite difference.

If he has an aftermarket "chip" (from just about anyone), also forget it.

Bruce

PS - Note that Car & Driver tested a 2010 C63 with torque converter and development package, and ran the quarter in 12.3 @ 117 mph.

In contrast, they tested a new coupe with development package and ran 12.1 @ 120. With weights almost identical, that's the wet clutch talkin'.

IMHO dont try to compare m3 to c63 in straight line. I own both c63 and m3, they are different cars.

C'mon guys...realistically he would either keep up or barely pull on the amg. If your cousin has anything besides the stock 451hp engine that has been listed so far I doubt you'll do that well.
