Have you considered deleting the secondary cats and still doing the OEM exhaust mod? There is a guy on here who did that and it sounded great.

It seems like a nice option if you have to pass an emissions test in your state, you don't want the smell of catless, you don't want BMW complaining about your modification, and you don't want a check engine light.

If you want to stay fairly cheap go with turner test pipes and a megan racing exhaust.
@ Alpine335i : Which OEM mod did you have with the Turner Test Pipes? ACM straight through method or Periokid's method? I am wondering about the experience with turner test pipes with periokid's original oem exhaust mod.

Like the OP, I am debating turner test pipes vs. periokid's oem exhaust mod vs. doing both. I would not want to get a cat back system because I want to keep my oem look.

Find a used x-pipe, if you don't want smell then get one that has a set of HFC's, preferably one that won't trigger CEL. If you don't mind smell go catless and get a tune. Good sound bump when pairing aftermarket x-pipe with oem exhaust. This way it's simple, reversable, and only a little bit more expensive.

I'm gonna have to agree with KennyPowers here, primary cat delete ftw. Slightly louder plus no drone on the hwy. Great setup. Even though I would favor the primary cat delete with a nice axleback...love it. Anyways, def pimary cat delete and I didn't notice a smell with KenneyPowers car at all...or anything that really bothered me. Just my two cents.

The car in that video does sound great, and I hear no rasp too. I have TTP with Eisenmann Race, and it is not raspy. I also didn't feel there was a difference in smell. It did, however, increase drone a bit.

Thanks man! It is pretty loud, but I don't think it's TOO much. It hasn't gotten me into any trouble yet (fingers crossed).
