Funny comments on here. Painted CF? Really? So you bought these splitters yourself to make that claim?

I had a set of OEM splitters and eBay Splitters and I was really surprised at the difference. Its almost a wash. The OEM splitters did not fit perfect, pretty close but the left side needed just a little bit of massaging and I did grind down one edge slightly. The eBay splitters are made of REAL CF, you can see the fabric from the front to back. The left side fit like a glove. The right side had a little extra material on two edges that took at most 10 minutes to get rid of. It was grinding with the Dremel, stop and check fitment a few times. It ended up fitting really nicely. The OEM splitters are just slightly a bit "sharper" but not very noticeable. The finish on the OEM splitters were really nice and even. The finish on the eBay splitters was even glossier then OEM and there was maybe a slight wave in the resin towards inside edge. When both were on you couldn't tell which was which. Sold the OEM splitters and kept the cheap eBay ones. I couldn't be happier. If I blast a splitter while driving I won't be crying home.

Just want to share what I've been told by my friend who manufacture these replica parts, I have nothing against them, in a matter of fact, I picked up a set myself for winter usage, and I agree, they look good, fit fine, damn cheap to replace.

Why would anybody spend alot of money on a lip is the real question. They easily get damaged and broken. Especially here in New York. Anything over $500 for a lip is just stupid in my opinion so what If we drive m3's as long as fit ment Is good then who really cares.

For the less educated on mods, can someone explain the purpose of these splitters?

Just decoration. Think of it like a lip ring for your car.

I have to say, the splitters are perfect height. I never scrape them. The felt boxes scrape before the splitters do. I recently had them clear bra'd and they are holding up well.
