Hifi Stereo Amp Upgrade Only
Hi Guys,
I have the Hifi 10 speaker setup in my car. I actually think the sound quality is pretty good for a non-premium setup. When I bought the M3 i promised my wife i would not treat it like my Cayman and cut through metal and fit 9s in the doors rip out the all the Most Fiber wire...etc. What I want to know is, Has anyone just upgraded the amplifier in the Hifi setup? I think i can deal with the stock speakers. I just want a little more clarity during louder volumes and a little more punch. I was thinking along the lines of a JL XD600/6. If i set the gains conservatively and run a passive subsonic around 30hz, will the stock Hifi speakers handle around 60w rms each and the subs at 90w rms? And does it sound better?
