Time for an update. Took my car in for warranty service at McKenna BMW and they found no issues with the comfort access system. Even though I was able to present the problem to the SA when I dropped my car off for service, the tech found no issue and said the comfort access system was working normally. Of course, when I went to pick my car up, the problem was still alive and well on the drive side door. So confusing....
I'll be bringing my M back in for an oil change in about 1-2 months, so I'll take another shot at the problem then. Will keep the thread updated. Last edited by m45; 10-24-2012 at 09:55 PM. |

I have HO 30 (I believe) and I have no issues with CA at all.

Huper Optik should not give you any problems since it's a ceramic tint.
I actually run a hybrid/metallic tint but Johnson films. I really wanted 30% but didn't want to to pay the ceramic price. I can report after a year and half that I have absolutely no issues with the CA system despite the tints having some metal in it. |

I know I'm bringing this tread back to life, but I'm curious if anybody else has had this problem? I have Huper Optik on my current car and love it. This tint makes a huge difference in these Texas summers on a car with black interior (current car & m3 will have this) but my VW does have CA so I don't really know about this specific feature

We have a lot of local customers that have gotten their cars ceramic tinted and they have not experienced any issues with their key fobs. Seems like it is a hit or miss kind of problem. For the locals... you guys are more then welcomed to stop on by and get you car checked out by our performance department technicians and service advisers. We are a mod friendly dealership so it doesn't matter if you bring it in with a supercharger or complete catless exhaust system!

I forgot to update when I got formula 1 tint on my m3. It has been working well just like it did on my old 2008 335i with CA. I will stick to Formula 1 tint again for the next car.
