SoCal Karting event Friday 3/2/2012 - Burbank CA.

Karting event in Burbank - 3/2/2012 - Details inside

To all my fellow SoCal members. On Friday 3/2/2012 will be another indoor Karting event. I have worked out a special rate at the new facility in Burbank so let's see who wants to go. The majority wins on this one. Time of event will be 8:00 PM until close.

Burbank Location - Racers Edge Indoor Karting (http://racersedgekarting.com/)
960 Chestnut Street
Burbank, CA 91506

Details:

The special rate will be $15.00 per person per race. Each person who buys 5 races, they will receive a free Racer's Edge T-Shirt, and will also receive a complimentary Annual Corporate Membership card. (one t-shirt and membership card per person) (PLEASE NOTE that this is a CORPORATE annual membership, which entitles the bearer to member pricing all year, the T shirt, and invites/priority for special events. It does not include the 2 free races or the birthday race.)

We may also bring our friends and families to enjoy the $15.00 per race price. The junior races will also be $15.00 (which is the junior member price).

Letís get some names down so we will have a head count.

One thing I ask is if you say you are going then go. If you are not sure let's put maybe or nothing at all. It is typical for people say they are coming and not show up. This is all about getting members to meet new friends and have a good time too. Dont forget you can bring your own friends too!

I might be able to attend if it's in Corona but traffic on a Friday is gonna be a bitch.

We live in SoCal. Traffic is a bitch anyhow. I myself drive 60 miles to get there and some of the other guys drive even further. It is not about the traffic it is the fun that comes with it.

I will let this go for 1 week to let the members decide whether they want to go to Burbank or Corona.

Hope to see you at one of these. Turn out in the past was usually 15 to 30 people. That of course includes members bringing friends. It has been a blast in the past .

Any reason why you've chosen Pole Position over K1 since there are more K1 locations locally?

Yes - In the past K1 would not return my emails when asking for special pricing to the forum members. When PPR responded and made a good deal they had my vote and the relationship started from there thus having 6 events there to date averaging between 15 to 30 people.

Once we know which Karting facility we will be going to I hope to see you there. So if you had your choice your vote is PPR?

I admit, the people who work there are really cool. They answered because they are desperate. I think you should reconsider because the 1.) the track is small, 2.) the cars are on the slower side, 3.) the cars handle horribly (they "skip" not skid like drifting around sharp turns). I tried giving it a chance because it's much closer to my house than MB2 or K1 AND the staff was always cool...all 5 times that I went. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in myself to go there again.

Sylmar has MB2... maybe another option?

Out of all fairness I would not say they were desperate. Truth is with the events I have set up in the past the people that have showed up would not have come otherwise. When we show up we have a great time and they make extra money for the evening that would not have walked in the door to begin with. The statement applies to anywhere we all decide to go.

By Friday the 24th I will have us locked down at one of the two. If everyone wants to go to Burbank then Burbank, if Corona then Corona.

As for stating that the cars are slow you must have gone on the junior cars because they seem pretty fast to me. I have heard that PPR's cars are faster than Burbank's track yet their track has tighter turns and the floor is made differently.

Let me know if you are intrerested and I will put your name on the list for which track you perfer.

I have other friends that have said different. Personally I like Pole Position but from the feedback I got the majority wanted Burbank. I think we will stick with Burbank on this one and see how it compares. Thanks for the input though.
