Same with my old 135. That said I swerve around them as much a possible but they are everywhere in NY/NJ. Replaced 4 tires and 2 wheels in 18 months on the 1er, only 1 and 1 on the M so far. Tire/wheel insurance is the best purchase I ever made

I drive very carefully inside the loop in Houston. So far, I've avoided major problems. My friend was driving near the Galleria, and a construction crew forgot to replace a manhole cover. Front tire went in and wheel was scratched for 6 inches from the rim. Screwed his suspension. Fortunately, no other damage.

Seattle roads just suck.

Our city does not believe in repairing or maintaining our roads. They go unmaintained for years where the end result is you have to completely rebuild the entire road.

M stays in the garage during winter in Seattle where Subaru does all the work.

I broke enough rims in the area (while being careful) to risk taking out nice cars.....especially in the evening.

Yes! The Kent area is crap but recently some roads have gotten paved over.

I've been to India and they have better roads then ours. (not kidding)

I do my best to avoid potholes, etc. and am super paranoid as well, but I live in NY and the roads suck (the city and suburbs where I live). I daily drive my M and think it would be more trouble than it's worth to take specific routes all the time though.

I know what you mean about taking the pristine silky roads for granted. I have never driven outside of FL (except when I brought my car home from PCD) and dread the day that I have to leave the state and start driving on pockmarked icy roads. *shudder* Because the roads in Florida are really good for the most part, I never really understood the value of purchasing the wheel and tire warranty until I saw what road conditions are like elsewhere in the US. Kinda makes me wish I had bought it.

I slow down or avoid potholes, bumps, ladders, and dead bodies when I see them.
Lost one of My 19" ZCP's to a pot hole on a So Cal fwy, so now running 18's and no problems since.

My favorite is when I come all the way out of my lane into oncoming traffic lane and seeing some poor schmucks freak cause they think I am gonna head on them

I keep my seat high up so I can scan the entire road..I am very serious about not hitting potholes even though I have most memorized I still have to be diligent...I live in NY nuff said..
I hope this is a joke. If not, u sir drive like an asshole. U are puting others in danger because u are too anal about potholes?? Imagine if the other guy really thought u were going to hit him and steered away hitting something else. I really don't get people here sometimes. U would risk an accident just to avoid a pothole??

I would do that if the roads in my area weren't more pothole than pavement.

No worries here. Potholes are the reason god created BMW Tire and Wheel Insurance. Get it and forget it!

Life is too short and my car way too much fun to drive around. The last thing I need is to be afraid of hitting potholes, especially in the Boston area.

Not really too worried, I live in LA though. I'm sure if I lived in NYC I'd be alot more careful and I probably would've gotten the wheel insurance.

I try to avoid where possible, but ultimately I'd rather bend a rim than bend my face on the dash or hurt someone else. SF has terrible streets. Absolutely terrible. The local politicians are too busy funding coordinated tree hugs and ensuring everyone feels special rather than fixing the roads. Anyway, I've hit huge potholes, steel plates (evidently getting them flush to the road is tough), you name it (the worst is a water filled pothole, sneaky bastards) and haven't had a single problem with my stock 19s; no damaged rims or tires - they appear to be indestructible.

Its more like "Dude, stop being so Canadian, eh?!"

I AM thinking about myself. I wouldn't want to be hit straight on by some asshat American trying to avoid a pothole when they are in my city

Almost as bad as potholes are those deep dips coming out of parking lots onto roads. Nothing worse than hearing/feeling the bumper rub on that.

I like to speed up as much as possible so my BBS wheels "skip" over the hole as much as possible.
