Ad08 vs ps2 tread life question
If both were driven the same , in same conditions, which would outlast which, my search results say ps2 but I kinda like what I'm hearing about the ad08 plus the price lol
is there treadlife that diff or similar? Thanks plan on purchasing tomorrow also thinking of goin 275 in the rear oppose to 265 |

People's personal experience would not be the best indication as driving style is so important to tread wear, and everyone drives differently - no matter how you describe it. Your best bet is to compare the tread wear number, which is 220(PS2)vs 180(AD08) ...
If you're looking for amazing tread wear, great performance, good price..why not consider the Pilot Super Sports? 300 Tread wear, better overall + wet performance...even if you track, unless you were an avid junky, I doubt you'd feel the difference.

Np..for reference, I've driven on OEM PS2 for about 19.000km..then took them off with just enough tread for lease return. Went on to use RE-11 for about 5000km, before switching over to P-Zero Corsa system for about 4000km(these wore so fast!)...finally swapped over to AD08 this season for about 9-10,000km. Based on my experience the stickier tires yield negligible benefits for daily driving; actually, the corsa systems scared me sh*tless in the rain. Although, I did never look back at the PS2 due to the cost and performance of the other tires that I tried(minus the corsa). With the PSS out, you definitely have a winner for daily driving ,mixed with tiny bit of tracking.

Very much depends on how you drive. If you do more than a couple of track days a season without dedicated track tires, AD08 are going to outlast PS2 or even PSS. Otherwise PS2 should last same or longer, but PSS are even better from what I hear.

MaxL hit it on the head. If you're doing track days, running canyons, autocrossing and otherwise driving like you stole it, the AD08 takes abuse better. If you're driving like a gentleman on public roads the PS2 will last longer. PSS is like PS2, but longer lasting.
Treadwear numbers like 180, 220, 300 etc are set independently by each manufacturer. They each do their own testing, and are allowed to set the number as high as their testing indicates, but may set it lower at their own discretion. In theory, they each have some baseline that is 100 and the number should be directly proportional to how the rated tire compares to the baseline. So a 200 should last 2x as long as whatever their baseline is. Comparisons of these numbers are reasonably reliable within one brand, but should not be deemed reliable across brands.

The PS2 looks like it's been to hell and back on just a few autocrosses. The AD08 I had before on my previous car would look like new still afterwards. It's just tires designed for different purposes. the PS2 and PSS are not designed for track use.

My experience is only between the AD08's and the PS2's and my suggestion is if you do any track days or autocrosses at all, get the AD08's. If you're driving 100% on the street, then get the PS2 or PSS.

My AD08's actually lasted me about a little over a year, so maybe 12k miles at most I would say. They were amazingly good, I still say that they're the best tire I've ever driven on before, but they do get quite loud at the end of their life, and the sidewall doesn't have much give in it, so it's not necessarily your best comfort tire out there.
With that said though, if it was me, I'd still go with the Yoko's, hands down.
