Exclamation YCW Engineering Dry-Carbon Driveshaft - Pre-Order Special

Hey guys,

now that we've got some testing and feedback under our belts, we would like to start our Official Pre-Order for the YCW Engineering Dry-Carbon Driveshaft:

Some images of our processing:

Dry Carbon Fibre Spool

Dry Carbon Fibre Weaving

Dry Carbon Fibre Weaving (closer image)

MSRP will be $1499.95. This is around $100 more expensive than our competitors, but we are the only company to make them from 100% Dry Carbon Fibre (you can google wet vs dry carbon), and the only company that can balance them to 12000rpm with minimal vibration.

During back-to-back comparison tests, all of our competitors carbon propshafts vibrated like crazy once spinning over 5000rpm, as none of them possess the machines that we do to manufacture custom joints to within 0.02mm tolerance. Ours are also stress tested to withstand over 5500nm torque (that's over 4000lbs)

You can also view a review (with images during installation) here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1311848

Pre-Order
10 Confirmed Buyers - 30% Discount off MSRP ($1050) + shipping
15 Confirmed Buyers - 35% Discount off MSRP ($975) + shipping

Weight is approx. 5kg (around 11lbs), so is around 50% lighter than the oem driveshaft

It was not tested on a supercharged M3, no, but you should not have any issue with torque capability.

Since it's one piece this can't be installed without dropping the diff or transmission correct?

If you remove the guibo, loosen the carrier bolts and push it back slightly, yes, there is just enough room to install it without dropping the carrier.

Did you guys follow a similar procedure to the SFI standard for the BMW driveshafts? I notice you've tested well above the SFI test torque but that's a different thing.

http://www.sfifoundation.com/wp-cont...3.1_032409.pdf

Also, here's the YCW website, Taiwanese company.

http://www.ycwengineering.com/

Submitted without comment obviously, just information and explains why they're able to offer these at a price point similar to the QA1 shafts which are made in Minnesota but in significantly higher volumes for american cars, and drag/circle track. Low volumes for low-production BMW's = higher costs of course

What kind of warranty does it come with? I have a ESS VT2-625 and will be using it on the autobahn in Germany!

Will everything needed for installation be included?
Probably a good idea to swap some bushings while doing this as well since my car is at 62k miles.

Do I need to remove the entire subframe to replace the driveshaft or is it a lite operation? I have solid subframe bushings and can't remember if I can push it even slightly back once the bolts are loosened.

Message from OP:

If you're wondering why I'm not posting in the pre-order thread, it's because Vendors are capped at 3 replies per day to their own threads, which means I can't reply to anyone until tomorrow!!! If you could be so kind and make a quick post to inform everyone that I am still here (24/7 as usual! lol) and I'm not ignoring anyone
