Just talked to Recaro about this, looks like they will have a fix in the next month or so.

They are looking in a sort of spacer piece between the mount and the seat. The problem is that most of Recaro Germany is on holiday right now.

Well the seat is removed from competition, but not track days. I have seen many people people use "expired" FIA seats for their track car. Anyway, it looks like the problem happens when the seat is improperly installed on the brackets.

well any seat that has been proven to be unsafe is unsafe regardless of its use... but ill wait and see what response i get and go from there..

You're right, I'm just happy that Recaro is the one that found out in testing and not in a track accident.

Just received an update on the exchange situation. It looks like there will be an update process for the exchange next week, including a form to fill out. Recaro is ramping up production right now on the new seats in Germany. It looks like it will be about 3 months until the seats arrive in the U.S.
