just saw ur from phx...have u gone to memos cafe (hookah bar), i was there a while back i saw a sick blue 335i, maybe it was yours!

someone mentioned the harm of inhaling coal. I have an inverter bowl where the tobacco sits ontop of the coal and you can adjust the height/ distance.

Nope, I drive a 328 and go to harem lounge in ahwatukee right off ray.. I think I know who your talking about though, his 335 is wrapped in some sort of matte light blue with kind of a two tone in black?

the water is in the hookah to filter everything.....also for people who say hookah is worse than cigs..is wrong..hookah has no toxins like cigs do. and water filters everything out as well...

Shisha is in no way more harmful than cigarettes, however you tend to inhale much more smoke per sitting than when smoking cigarettes. The water in the hookah does filter the smoke but the majority of the smoke is actually from the vaporized molasses which in turn can build up in your lungs. It is not as harmful as the tar and chemicals in cigarettes but it is still not good for your health. That said I do enjoy a bowl every so often when chilling with buddies.

when they say hookah is worse than cigs...they mean by smoke volume, a hookah has a larger smoke volume than cigs..but cigs have toxins and nicotine and etc...so i think hookah is way safer, unless u smoke everyday then thats a different story lol

funny to randomly come up on this thread after breaking out my hookah for the first time in a few months. I'm not sure what kind it is... I just went to a big hookah shop and bought the most expensive double hosed hookah they had there. It has a ball bearing in it so that you don't have to keep the other hose plugged. I've had it for about a year now and it works fantastic still. I got a double hosed one because its usually something that I have a few people in on if I'm going to use it.

With reference to the above statement of it being worse than cigs... I know that there are studies that correlate smoking things off of tin foil to memory loss... and I think the person who was talking about the quantity of smoke inhaled is the biggest health concern. If you have a set of lungs you can get more smoke out of one rip of the hookah than you can out of a pack of cigs lol

Can anyone verify a myth I heard that filling the base with alcohol (vodka was the claim) is a destroyer? Heard that it f**** you up... hasn't been worth trying though just wondering if anyone has tried it

This is coming from a full Lebanese guy.

I've been around hookahs honestly my whole life. It's an old Arabic tradition. I currently own 3 and love them. I'm actually smoking mine right now ! In my opinion don't get the hookahs with the multiple hoses; it just cuts out on the smoke because multiple people are dragging from it. Get a nice hookah, but don't spend an outrageous amount of money on one. Id say $60-$70 dollars will buy you a nicely designed one! I don't think hoses matter, but then again I could be wrong :. The best part is the Shisha. Pick from good companies. Personal favorites are Fantasia and Al Fakher. There is a lot more but I just like those two. Starbuzz isn't too good and it's overpriced. I think fantasia is the best. The coals are also important. Don't buy the crappy quick lights; buy some quality Coconaras (natural coconut coals). They leave no taste, and last for a long time.

As for filling up the bowl, with fantasia what I do is fill it to about the top, maybe a little under. Sprinkle te Shisha in, and don't pack it in too tight or you won't get any air through the head. Take a sheet of foil and tightly wrap it around the head (shiny side down). Try to get no wrinkles so the heat is spread evenly. If you take my advice and try fantasia, you're gonna need a good amount of heat, so I say start it off with two Coconaras and then as they get smaller add one or two. Fill the water base with a good amount of water so the stem of the hookah is about 2 inches under the water.

After that you should be good to go. Oh yeah, rotate the coals every 15-20 minutes so the Shisha doesn't burn.

Shisha is flavored tobacco you use in a hookah.

As az335idesi said, smoking is smoking. The decision is yours my friend!

I can say smoking it 1-2 a week with a couple of friends shouldn't be horrible for you, but then again it is smoke!

Yeah I did order a hookah(Khalil Mamoon 1 hose) and a bunch of different flavors noth Starbuzz and Al-Fahkr. Been having a few good sessions every week. Usually to end the week and the weekend while grinding out some poker online and jamming out. Thanks for all the input and suggestions it was a great help!
