All the cold start does is heat up the primary cats faster for emissions reasons. I live in Canada and drive year around and don't have the cold start anymore and it does effect the car in anyway in winter driving.

As others have said if you have tips sticking out too far you more then like have an e92 model.

I am sure that you have lots of buyers on the forum for your evo.

Yeah, just after I posted my comment about my concerns with deleting my cold start I read the "cold start" thread. This forum is a great source of info even though I was fine with the car I bought off the rack until I got the mod bug from reading this forum.
