Is there a market for scratched up lips?

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None
Item Interest
I have a polyurethane Vorsteiner lip, painted in JB with a clear bra.

It needs to be R&R'd before it goes on someone's car, as a combination of springs and horrible Houston roads has done a number on the bottom.

Should I bother trying to sell it?

Honestly, it depends on the weather. Throw it up and toss a number out there. Ya never know.

Authentic Vorsteiner poly lips are in pretty high demand from what I've seen. I would think that even a scratched one would sell quick.

These are pretty large, but I wanted you to see what it's like.

Nucking, if you live inside the Loop and have lowered your car, this is what you can expect.

$250?

ok fellas, shipping question for you. while shipping my springs, I asked the UPS guy to estimate shipping to a different member, and since I didn't keep the original box, had to estimate a 5' X 3' X 6" to his zip.

It came out to almost $100.

Is there something I'm missing here? Are folks just wrapping them in bubble wrap and hoping for the best?

Springs should not need a box that big. Since they can't be broken, only scratched, they don't need a box much bigger than they are. It's also very dependent upon the distance.

You are assuming that they are 6" diameter based on the third dimension you listed there. That means that fours lined up side by side would be 24", not 5'. As for the third dimension, springs are far from 3' long. Half that at most.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear.

I also had a set of springs for sale in suspension section, and had sold them to another forum member. While I was at the UPS store shipping those, I asked about shipping for this lip.

Springs aren't a huge box, but they aren't light either.

Well, with a lip, it does need to be in a box. Since yours is urethane, it doesn't need to be in as large of a box as if it were carbon/fiberglass since it won't crack if crushed.

I am in the process of shipping a diffuser that is 50"x10"x6" from LA to Miami and thats gonna cost me about $65.

What a coincidence, I'd sell it for the right price.

I think it's sold. If it falls through I'll be back.
