e9x (old) 1/4 Mile World Record 10.690@129.38 VAC Motorsports E92 M3 | VF620

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com

- MMS received at 12:39 PM EST, 12.10.2011.

“like that?” - text received at 12:39 PM EST, 12.10 .2011.

Honestly, I didn’t even look.

My girlfriend and I were enjoying bagels from Leo’s while sitting on Hanover Square in Manhattan when these texts came through. A few thousand people dressed as santa claus, santa’s helpers and elves (some sexy, most not) were keeping us entertained, so I chose to ignore the text and carry on with my fabulous cinnamon raisin bagel. Santacon, for those wondering.

After missing two calls along with the texts, I finally look to my phone knowing that I must have missed something major. Yep, I did.

10.690@129.38

My hired gun was at Atco Raceway, looking to beat his standing ¼ mile world record for all boost E9x M3s that he ran a few weeks ago at Cecil County Dragway.

No nitrous
No meth
Stock engine
93 octane fuel
DOT approved street legal tires
Atco Raceway, Atco NJ

SPECS:

2008 M3
DCT
VF Engineering VF620 Supercharger Kit
VAC by Fabspeed catless exhaust
APEX 18x10 ARC-8 rear wheels
Mickey Thompson ET Streets (DOT Approved - street legal!)
ar Design Line Lock
No other mods.

This VF-Engineering VF620 kit is the real deal. This is a stock kit...nothing more. In addition to some serious whooping at the drag strip, we hammered it for many many sessions on Lightning and Thunderbolt at NJMP.

PS. Our hired gun is not a race car driver - it's Klevis Prifti, our Performance Center Manager. Not bad for his 2nd time at the drag strip Next season is going to be crazy!

PPS. Records are made to be broken. Lets go boys and girls ;-)

Congrats on breaking into the 10s, and this is still only the beginning.

Coming very soon. I know folks have heard that before, but we like to thoroughly 'test' kits before we start pitching. Needless to say, we have done enough testing 10s of thousands of abusive miles on the Vorsteiner car with no failures doesn't hurt either

Good air this past weekend for sure! Congrats guys!
Let's just say I hope you are still selling the kit when my warranty expires.

I wonder how it will do in the same tune during summer weather conditions.

Excellent work VF and Vac! Knew it was just a matter of time when the stars would align for someone, based on your last run, I'm not surprised it was your car, you did everything right - line lock, MT Drag Radials, and a trip to Atco, with -1000+ DA.

I didn't think he could best his 1.7x 60', either, but I was wrong, nice work. It will be tough even for a Stage 3 to beat that time without a solid launch or unless they run in good air as well. It's a bummer that the the event I was scheduled to go to on the 10th as well, was cancelled. Fantastic job guys.

Thanks Drew. Can't wait to see what your beast does!

ps. MT ET Streets, not Drag Radials. Us east coasters like to kill it on DOT legal tires first

Thanks man!

All the Drag Radials people in the M3 community run on are Street legal / DOT approved tires, Nitto, MT ET Streets, BFG, but let's call them what they are, Drag Radials, lol, their real purpose is meant for Drag racing and on dry pavement.

Next time you are on the East Coast you need to come to the drags with us. You can get shot for saying that I almost did, haha!

LOL, MT ET Street II are Drag radials regardless of where you reside, but it takes ZERO away from what you guys have accomplished, because it's the proper / only way to do it!

You gained roughly 3mph in your trap, did you change anything after the initial runs at Cecil County?

No changes. We simply bolted the kit on a few mos ago and beat it mercilessly ever since
