cic replaced in 09, now NAVIGATION greyed out after reprogramming???

So I just got my cic unit in my 09 m3 replaced because I was having the red screen reset issue and after the shop (local independent shop who has all standard bmw software/equipment) reprogrammed it with the original maps from 2009 the screen shows up with NAVIGATION greyed out....They tried several things like pulling fault codes but the only 2 that come up have to do with SDARS (sirius) but yet sirius works fine with the new unit.....also voice controls do not work. I asked my friend who has coded my car in the past and he thinks they forgot to put a FSC code in which would activate the navigation....anyone got a clue?

Sounds like they still need to load the necessary enabling codes

Damn replacement CIC.. when that happens, you need to have at least two FSC Code. One to activate the navigation function, one for the voice control and possibly one for the navigation maps. It needs to be loaded somehow if it's a blank CIC

Voice control FSC isn't required if you don't want it. Going the OEM route is very expensive. I paid like 600 for just the navigation module FSC a while back. Your best bet at this point is to get a hardware activation (bypasses the FSC). You can get the hardware activation for both the navi and voice.

Best,
John
