Can 2012 E92 M3 price/options change before next June?

I am about to submit an order for an E92 thru Military Sales overseas, and my SA is telling me to kinda hurry up and submit the order so he can hold or gurantee the price, in case options or prices change by the new year?!

My understanding the M3 E92 2012 option and price sheet that came out in September 2011 should be good to go until end of production for the E92 M3 in June 2012, correct? Or can BMW come up with an updated sheet say in January with new colors, different options, and change the price around a little?

Please advise and thanks in advance.

I believe the base price of the e92 M3 is increasing by $220 in Jan. Not sure if the pricing of options and/or packages are supposed to increase.

Thanks! Any changes in options, standard options, colors, or probably not?

Very unlikely mid-year. On occasion they will roll out some new tech thoughout the lineup mid-model-year, but I am not aware of anything like that coming in the next few months.

As for changes or deletions of features and colors - no.

For MY2013 (which is not yet confirmed by BMW but is all but certain to be coming next July), you may see some further package simplifications and probably some new special aesthetic packages or a special model. Nothing performance related though, save for the not-for-North-America "M3 CSL".

I must have missed some of the talk on the 2013 model run. I'm guessing short production run? Reason I'm very curious is because I just put my order in, but I can't do Euro Delivery before production of MY 2012 ends in June. However, Sept I could....

I just want to see how BMW would pull the first-time trick of having a MY2012 F30 selling side by side with a MY2013 E92. Then having a MY2014 F32 selling side by side with a MY2013 F30 later on...

All seems to indicate that June 2012 will be the end of several MY2012 models, including the new M5 not even yet released. The E92 should be one of them.

Tech - see the F30 prod schedule. MY2013 F30 starts in July as well.

Yep. Like I say, F30 is on that list too.

it's not 100%. But you have to look at the evidence:

- MY2012 E92/E93 M3 and 3 series ends June next year. This is fact confirmed by BMW

- F32 mules are nowhere near produciton ready. Not even close. See the most recent Bimmerpost feature comparing to old E92 mule pics if you need more convincing. Those E92 mules were from back in 2004 sometime. The production car did not show up until late 2006.

- SCOTT confirms that 2013 is the year for the F32. He, too, cites the latest mule pics as hard evidence of that.

Well, I'm sure they can't schedule an ED for MY2013 yet. Once it is confirmed (assuming it is - I am convinced it will be, others may not be), you'll be able to get an ED date for an MY2013.

If you wanted the last of the E92 M3s, you probably needed to wait at least another year. That's my opinion. We'll see how it plays out.

Odd that when I ordered mine, there didn't seem even the slightest possibility that there was going to be another E9x model after MY2012.

I really think you were listening to a vocal but incorrect contingent of the bimmerpost forum, unfortunately. However, it could be the me that turns out to be wrong. We'll have to wait a few more months for the answer.

The problem is that the F32 would be 2 model years behind the F30 then. The fix could be the 2013 F32 being either 09/12 or 03/13 and be MY2013, and the E92 being phased out in 06/12 la E90 on 10/11.

I'm not convinced yet that the E92 production will go over 06/12.

No matter what happens, the pattern of model releases changed already.

The other possibility that I can see is BMW changing the SOP of the MY2012 from 06/12 to 10/12 -again, following the E90- and then releasing the F32 on 02/13 as a MY2013. Scott will be correct then.

The F80 M3 should be about a year from there.

"Problem" as being out of pattern, and most probably out of what BMW seems to be looking for to do: cut the time into market of all the important models.

The E90 production run was effectively cut one model year, the E92 seems to be going the same route. Then the MY2012 F30 is set to run for a very few months before another change of model year.

That does not seem like having the F32 waiting for two model years to be released to me.

The E90 is technically still in production until January in one of the factories its built in (I forget which one). US production is done though, yes. Still, even if we talk about the European factories, which have just stopped E90 production, we are talking only about three months early or so. MY 2005 E46 sedans were only in production until Jan 2005.

The E92 followed the E90 by a year and a half. The gap was from March 2005 until September 2006. SCOTT has already said we should expect that same time span again. I look at the F32 mules and I can't see what would make me believe he's wrong. The only conclusion that makes sense is that the F32 is a second-half 2013 car. And I firmly believe there's an MY2013 E92 (and E93) coming, to be produced from July 2012 until about the end of Q2 2013. At this point I'm going to be shocked if it doesn't play out like this.

So far, I've hear two "rumors" that the E90 production is being stopped in December 2011. I also heard that the last cars are destined for the South African Market. However, these are only rumors and nothing more. I've tried searching and can't find anything concrete re: production being stopped for the E90. My dealer is assuring me that the production has stopped NOW, but I don't believe him.

Can anyone verify anything concrete?

That's correct, but it is not a good example as that year and a half of the E90 was a 2006 the whole time. In this apparent "year and a half or so" of the F30 it is already set to be two model years -2012 and 2013. Because there cannot be a 2013 E92 and a 2013 F32 concurrently then it will be the first time that the Coupe will follow the Sedan by 2 model years.

Perhaps those two years are the mark of the introduction of the new 4-Series but still it does not make too much marketing sense to me to stop the E92 in June and then have a final short production with the expense involved in changing the model year.

That's very un-BMW.
