I have this issue when I leave work in the afternoon pulling out of the parking lot (two quick right turns). This even happens after I let the car warm up for a couple minutes. Will be taking into BMW dealership to see if they can re-up the diff fluid.

This is weird. My car never did this until I brought it in for the diff service. They said they replaced the diff oil and serviced it. Now my car makes the noise when turning right at slow speeds. I am bringing it back to see whats up. I will let you guys know the deal.

These types of threads are difficult enuff to assess..but without a video..impossible.

Given the timing of when this happened (after break-in service)..its plausible thats its differential related..sounds like it

It's certainly possible that if they put the wrong fluid in, or the wrong amount, that it could change the noises the diff is making.

That being said - my diff has always made some noise when the fluid is cold and making extreme turns. No big deal - car drives great and coming up on 40k miles.

It is actually the nature of clutch type diffs to make noises on tight radius turns..to the OP I would drive it a bit and see if the sound persists.
