CDV - Clutch Delay valve. Any info?

I searched CDV and Clutch delay valve and it yielded nothing.

I remember when I had my E46 M3 6 MT, there was a mod everyone was doing back then, removing the clutch delay valve. What the valve did, for people who are unaware of this, is to damper the release of the clutch to prevent from abrupt shifts and rough take-offs.The valve on the E46 is very hindering, it was placed inside the clutch line to allow the hydrolic fluid to pass through at a much slower rate once the clutch is released.

Many people thought this took away from the connectivity when driving the car and I removed mine. Initially, I thought it was great, shifts were much faster, more sporty, didn't feel like every shift was dampened, etc.

From what I *know* on our E9x M3s there is a CDV but it is not affecting the drive-ability such as the E46 M3s. Does anyone have an information on this or if people still remove these from their vehicles?

Justin

There is no clutch delay valve in the E9X M3. The valve body is there, but it's hollow. There's no mod to be made here. If you're having issues with what feels like a non-linear clutch, check out the clutch spring removal in the DIY section of this forum.
