Back in the game, just picked this up!

Well, after falling in love with a Henna E30 when I was about 10, all I have wanted was an M3, period. My second car was a brand new 318ti, which I loved at such a young age, but it clearly wasn't an M3. Well, yesterday, I pulled the trigger, with the blessing of my amazing wife. Great way to celebrate a 30th birthday.

Here is a snap of her pre-delivery. Had 9 miles on it when I went to test drive it yesterday. Space Grey/Black Novillo/6MT/Competition - every box checked except extended leather and sunshade.

It was between this and an S5 and this was just WAY more fun to drive. I can't wait to start a little personalization.

I told the dealer to just wash it quick, don't try detailing it. She'll get a full detail this week.

Just excited to be back in the game right now!

Congrats! Welcome to the ///M family.

When you say 'a full detail' I hope you don't mean a 3 stage polish

Laurel was pushing their "paint & leather protection" package pretty hard... I am taking it to Simon's in Lincoln Park. They detailed my winter car, a Black 99 Tahoe Sport, and it literally looked new when I picked it up.

Well yea it would look like new if they gave it a 3 stage polish, so like I said initially make sure they DON'T do that. You're going to lose clear coat in an instant and the cars not even a week old. Just get a wash/wax, anything more than that is killing it and a waste on such a new car. Imagine how many swirls I have on my Jet Black, only way to get rid of 'em is the 3 stage but I'm not doing that until I've owned it for at least 1.5 years..

Note - M3's come with about a 4 micron layering of clear coat.. Each 3 stage polish will remove about 1.25/1.50 microns, so if you want to lose that after owning it for just a week, then go for it but many would advise against it.

Euro delivery... NICE! My friend was trying to talk me into ordering one and doing Euro delivery, but I had to scratch the itch and get a few months out of her before the snow hits Chicago. Plus I couldn't pass up the deal i got.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Parked her in a nice spot today with a yellow lined area right next to it. Parking downtown Chicago drives me crazy!
