Buyer Beware #2! 2008 E92 M3

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None
Item Interest
Misrepresented 2008 E92 M3 at BMW of Monrovia

Jet Black / Fox Red
VIN# WBSWD93538PY41980

Long story sort, I flew down from Seattle today to buy this car only to find that it had been repainted. The salesman assured me both over the phone and in person that it had zero paintwork and was spotless. After looking over it for 5-10 minutes I discovered overspray and tape marks on the back bumper. Needless to say, I didn’t sign the paperwork.

Hope this Helps!

Tell me about it...

People seem to forget that that car community is very VERY small so word gets out if you attempt to screw someone over.

More info on the whole situation can be found here.

Of course the pictures seem okay. They're the dealers

Unfortunately I wasn't in the mood to take pictures and stick around any longer than I had to.

Morovia sucks ! even though its only 10 mins drive for me, but i'd rather take my car to new century.

the staff are unprofessional, and sales persons are not friendly at all!!!

you don't know what goes on in that industry until you work there. In fact, I'll go as far as saying "any industry". That is all I have to say.

I know that dealer. Thats a shady dealer. I almost had to whoop A$$ on one chinese salesman because he was talking to me in a rude way. their cars are expensive and some of their CPO cars are in bad shape due to lack of maintainence. shady and I would NOT buy a car there.

As a comment, damage on rear bumper is always from an accident, since most folks don't drive in reverse . Paint damage caused by rear tires is not visible, and nobody paints a bumper because of that. Problem is damage could have been a harmless scrape, or a more serious hit. Once a dealer blatantly lies about that when asked point blank, I certainly wouldn't trust them anymore.

As I've said a million times, I MUCH rather buy a used car from an original owner, who's much less likely to lie to you since you'd know where he lives , you'd know the full history of the car, plus you can inspect the car wherever you want if desired. I stopped trying to sell my car, but even though my car shows clean in carfax and autocheck, I disclosed my cosmetic accident without waiting for somebody to ask, even though I know 19 out of 20 wouldn't find out it had paint work (it was fixed that good). But used-car salesmen and stupid dealers only have one goal in mind, and it's to sell their stupid cars by any means.

Look at Cars.com for one exactly like this. I was at Perillo BMW in Chicago over the weekend and I sat in an 09 E90 M3 that was JB/FR with 11k miles and is with DCT.

^^^ They're selling it for $59k but I'd bargain it down to $55k because they have a lot of used M3's I'm sure they want to get rid of.
