1,200 miles - 3,000 miles break in!

I've seen lots of 1,200 miles break in threads, but not many people talked about the 3,000 miles break in. Many said you can go WOT after the 1,200 miles service, so does that mean the 3,000 miles break in isn't really necessary? What's you guys' opinion on it?

This thread would have been better if "brake" had been used in the thread title. Just an fyi. It is hard to respect sloppy trolling.

Wow, you guys are really tough. I love the car to death, that's why I am so paranoid about every little thing and want to learn more about it. Just because I am not very educated about cars I get flamed on for wanting to learn more about it.

I thought this is the place to learn more about our special M, since dealers don't know crap about our cars.

Now, I like this particular tactic. I don't think you can go wrong with the ignorant sympathy card.

Props on this thread below btw. Freakin' awesome.

And no, I don't have a sticker telling me what to do on my windshield, but I am a little aware of the second break in. I don't know too much about it because not many people talked about it and everyone is talking about going WOT after the first service.

Haha man you guys are ruthless... I'll remember this if (when) I have questions when I get my DCT, considering I've never even driven anything non-MT.
