Snowboard rack BMW OEM VS Thule

Looking into a roof rack for the winter season
Anyone has any experience with any setup? need recommendations....
any input would be greatly appreciated!

Avoid racks that attach via hooks to the door frames. I'd imagine thule uses this set-up unless they specifically say direct mount. If they're direct mount, choose the cheapest. Otherwise, BMW.

get the BMW one. WAY worth it. Easy to attach and wont screw up any paint at all.

Keep in mind that the BMW rack is very limited in the number components that attach to the rack to hold different kind of loads. I got a BMW rack for our X3 and then found out that there are no tie down staps or load stops available. I would think you could get Thule bars that use the OEM attach point and then you would have lots of components to choose from.

I don't know very much about racks (for cars ) but can never go wrong with OEM

I got the Thule Aeroblade



although it's on top of our X3..I'll get the new Thule Pull Top ski/snowboard carrier to go with it, it's supposed to be in stores this week or next..

Thanks! =) I used to have a snow/surf rack on my 325 ci, but couldn't bring myself to put a rack on the M3.

Thule carriers should clamp onto the BMW crossbars. The BMW crossbars are good quality and fit well. Cant go wrong with either.
