Bird poop burn...

On my old 335i, bird dropping went unnoticed for a couple of days. When I found it and washed it off, it left a cloudiness "burn" on the clear coat. Traditional wax couldn't get rid of it.

Is there a solution to repairing it that doesn't constitute patch systems that require a new layer of clear coat and sandpaper?

You should be able to get it out using a orbital and some compound.
