Id love a 997tt but they are out of my budget. 996s are bad ass but the interior is so dated.

You don't have to go ask them....ask me. I owned an E60 M5 and now own a E92M3. M5 sounds amazing...so will an E92M3 with exhaust. Only other thing I miss about the M5 is the suede headliner and full leather dash. M5 SMG pails in comparison (by a MILE) to the DCT transmission. Nothing more needs to be said.

OP - you should holdout for DCT <hides for cover>

I agree, smg is garbage. I really do wish the supercharged one was dct but 6spd is fun too.

Both M5 and M3 are classics. Buy the M3 for handling; keep the M5 for family and highway cruising.
