Leather Repair?
Hey guys - I'm not sure if my car was delivered like this or not, but I just noticed that I have a small (abrasion we'll call it) in the leather on one of my bolsters. It kind of looks like a scratch, but when looking up close, you can see tiny little tears in the surface.
I brought this up to my dealer and they said that they have a leather guy who will repair it free of charge. However, I'm afraid that they might make it worse. Should I let them go ahead and repair it, or is there a method of repair that I should do myself? Thanks |

They are probably going to sand it and dye it. Short of leather replacement, it'll never be the same as brand new.

Unless you really know what you're doing, don't do it... You'll probably make it worse.
Post up a pic or something so some of us can get a better idea. How small is it? Is it really noticeable? Might just be something you treat with some leatherique or something and let it go, especially if it's on an area that will get worn anyway.

Yeah, I'll try and get some pics of shortly.
The dealer took a look and assured me that they could get it perfect again, but their version of perfect and mine may be far different. |

Let us know how it turns out. I was just about to post a similar thread and saw yours. Need to get this repaired as I have a scuff in the driver's side bolster. I was getting in the car and my the metal tab in my jeans damaged it

It actually came out really well. The scuff itself is gone and you can barely tell anything was ever done. I'm pretty impressed.
