Great job. Thanks.
Any pics of the tubing from the under tray to the fender liner? Was that short run in the pic all you needed?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

yep its a pretty short piece needed. i used about 1 and a 1/2 feet long or so but the distance is shorter than that just the turns in there wanted a little extra. if you look at the picture of the undertray the tubing exit in the fender liner is just passed the point where it passes through the hangers. the lower bolt in the fender well goes in the inner most tab on the undertray in that picture.

OEM rotors do not need any heat to "work" The colder the better for stock rotors as heat will obviously cause them to not work. A tiny air duct into the brakes will do nothing as far as making it "too cold" So if anyone else is considering this I do not think that two-part system is at all necessary. Only certain racing brake setups made of carbon require heating up. Steel rotors require absolutely no heat to work perfectly

The system may be run in the future on a bbk, running both parts would limit my turning radius and be a pain for regular street driving as it is 3 inch where most are 2.5. The 3 inch duct will provide a 50 percent increase in air flow compared to a 2.5 inch duct so should give some significant cooling.

Great work!!
Looking forward to hearing your full review out on track. I wonder how much more cooling the brakes effectively get without the backing plates??

Not sure, figured it couldn't hurt. Ran today at the track. Moring temps were much cooler than usual ended up about 50 out. I usually have to set my front starting pressure lower than my rears to achieve good hot pressure of 40. Today set my fronts at 33 like usual and they weren't getting up to full pressure so the ducts were cooling my fronts. Not definitive evidence but seems the ducts cooled my tires quite a bit, hopefully did the same for rotors.

update. seems to be working well. also ended up removing the dust shields so the air flow has a direct path to the back side of the rotors for better cooling. still no warm track days so hard to say but im pleased with the outcome.
