regarding my newest issue, mounts hadnt actually broken again. it appeared that way because the engine was 'moving' more than it should. however, the engine wasnt actually moving. the black ///M engine cover was not put on properly last time my mounts were replaced so the whole top cover was moving and hitting a bunch of stuff and rattling, etc. this also caused a small air gap and an oil leak which is unrelated but it was also fixed when they tightened the engine cover. car is good to go now!!
This explanation doesn't make any sense to me. Why would shipping a car cause the motor mounts to break? If that's 'normal' then pretty much every car on the road would have this issue as they're all shipped from the manufacturer to its selling location (unless you picked it up at the Welt, live in Europe and drove it home yourself). I'm no expert but... curious on the details of the explanation as I've been known to drive my car into an enclosed trailer, haul it to the track, repeatedly go 130mph , load it back up, haul it home & drive it to work the next day... and I've not had an inkling of the issues you've described.

Edited to add: I've even hauled it halfway across the country (Colorado to Monterrey for a visit to Laguna Seca), so... Yep. Still confused.

to be honest i have no idea i just went with it because i thought maybe the excessive moving around would cause this. but yea youre right haha car is shipped from europe...all i know is that my issue is gone and i drove roughly 200 miles today of spirited driving

And you give up there? I wouldn't. Sounds like a buy back situation for sure. Hope we don't hear from you again in 2 months. Good Luck!

They may have just said that to get you past the 15,000 limit for the lemon law. Doesn't make any sense to me either unless the shipping company strapped the car down with the engine.

This is making me nervous now. I just had my car shipped to California from New Jersey. It arrived a few days ago but I just parked it. I'm going to start driving it this weekend. I'll seriously be mad if my engine mounts break haha.

They won't, don't worry. That explanation for the OP's problem makes no sense.

buyback issue would be if the mounts break again because this was the "final repair" attempt and they werent denying the repair. they found the engine cover to be not put on properly

Does anybody have a picture of a 'broken' engine mount? And which one? I just don't see how a mount can break with rubber in the middle, unless it's a piece of crap. . And 3 times? Something must be misaligned big time.

I don't think there is anything you should be doing at the moment if the car is okay. If/when it happens again, I would initiate the buyback process at that time.
