ESS-625 Self-install, DCT GTS Software and TX vs SoCal shops

I know I am late to the party, but here is my supercharger story for those interested =)

I mod my car in steps. I like enjoying every new mod I do and when I get bored again I do yet another mod =)

My modding path was largely track oriented, but I came to a point when NA motor power levels were just not enough… With the usual full list of NA engine mods, I did ‘SAE’ 387 RWHP, 279 torque on EAS dyno, 91 pump gas on EAS dynojet. Attached here (first out of three).

After much debate, I decided to give supercharger a try. Roman @ ESS gave me a good deal. Initially, I opted for VT2 ESS-575, but while my kit was in transit, I promptly called ESS and upgraded to 625 kit. Roman sent me a new pulley and belt.

I installed supercharger myself with a buddy of mine in his garage. The install is not very complicated.

The rest in pictures..

Umm you know dyno numbers mean nothin for comparison purposes right?

It's not a dick measuring stick.

You were better off doing a before and after. If you want high numbers any dyno can be rigged to give you that.

OP - I think you need to contact Phil at the Houston M Club or bring it to the track at MSRH, TWS or MSR Cresson. I think there are more modded M3's running around than you saw. We'd love to see you at the track.

Congrats on finishing up the DIY! Those are some big numbers both NA and VT2-625!

Keep us posted as you put on more mileage.

+1.........I would say it's hard to find a stock M3 in Houston. I'm not sure where you live or hangout but the M scene in H-Town is alive and well. Holla at me.......Phil

They all drive AMG’s and are not used to over 8K redline and he kept cutting it off at 7700 or something.
Eurocharged is legit, they aren't just an AMG shop. They are use to dealing with cars that have more than three times the hp of your M3. They are partners with UGR. One of Eurocharged shop cars is a UGR Gallardo Superleggera. A couple guys there drive a 135i and E60 M5. Wonder who they put on your car?

For me to do before and after in the same place would be a hassle since I was removing my other mods to install the SC (pulleys, tune and intake).

I still think the dyno should give you more or less accurate number, I am not the specialist and not sure if there is a way to calibrate it, but it just doesn't make a lot of sense if it is way off even for comparison purposes.

I wanted to know if my car was running well after the install and Eurocharged dyno confirmed it, while DS dyno made me concerned.

Yes, I need to. As soon as I get my living situation here straight (garage and all), where I can work on the car and wash it properly, I plan on bringing it to the track just like I was doing in Cali on occasion.

It was a joke since I saw two modded AMG cars parked outside. I do think they are legit, don't get me wrong.
