New M3

Hello all, this is just a post introducing my brand new ///M. It's kind of sad that this will probably be one of the last threads like this.
Anyway, I came from a 2011 335is and a 2008 135i before that. Decided to pull the trigger on the E92 M while they were still NA, just to experience the legendary S65 motor. A few things I noticed that will come as no surprise to most people on here:
  1. The M suspension and LSD results in a much, much better ride than the vanilla E92's. This car feels so planted.
  2. I love the linear power delivery of the S65, as well as the manic sprint to redline, but I do miss the lazy and abundant torque of the N54
  3. The leather is much nicer than in the regular 3-series
  4. This is my first car that is not manual in over 12 years, so it was a little difficult to get used to the DCT at first. It is wonderful though.
Here are a couple of pics.

Nice! I also came out of a 2011 335is and into a new M3. The most noticeable differences to me are the improved throttle response, the better around town ride and the much improved handling at the limit.

The 335is always felt like it was running on tip-toes and was on the verge of departing controlled flight. The M3 just feels planted.

Congrats! Awesome color too. I see you're in Calgary. Will you be switching to a winter setup soon before the snow comes which in Calgary could be any moment now lol

Yes for sure, but I'm going to give it another couple of weeks, hopefully it doesn't snow before then...

Congratulations!

Love that it's Fire Orange. I too came from a 2011 335is and got my 2013 ZCP coupe in July this year. Of course engine dynamics are quite different, but I don't feel as if I lost speed in any category.
The biggest improvement is in the chassis/suspension. The dude who said the 335is feels like its sprinting around on tip toes nailed it. That car was so floaty for a performance car. The M3 inspires far more confidence in the amateur driver. It communicates as well as you wish your girlfriend would communicate.
No guesswork here. If the tires plan to break loose I swear, my car is borderline thinking of tossing up an outlook reminder that it's about to lose traction so be ready for it. You know what its doing and it knows what you want.

That is a big pumpkin you found there for the season
congratulation !! nice choice and enjoy safely.

Don't worry yours is not the last thread with a new ///M car, mine is on the way EDPCD re-delivery. Individual paint orders were stopped end of May, so I assume you found this beauty sitting quietly in a dealer's showroom ?
