2011 E90 M3  [4.50]
PSSs are better than PS2s... I think... Not sure if it's the 1 size larger (245 vs. 255 and 265 vs. 275) but the PSSs have a bit more lateral grip than the PS2 and is more stable under heavy breaking. I think it'll just get better when they tires break in all the way...

Where my DSC would kick in more with the PS2s, I could get on the gas just as aggressively while even having a slightly higher entry and mid corner speed, the PSSs just stuck and the DSC didn't kick in as much.

Average corner speeds were around 50 - 60mph in tight decreasing radius turns (see image above).

Super happy with these!!!

I run the same sizes and it's much better than the oe ps2's. Give them a chance to break in and if it's still feeling off get an alignment.

I just put on 255 & 275 Super Sports on my OEM 19s and I can see what the OP is talking about. I only have maybe 150 miles on these tires so far but they do feel very different. I am sure that once they are fully broken in the will be much better then the PS2s but initially, I dont have complete confidence in them yet. I think I just need to get used to them and they need to get broken in.

Just curious - what tire pressures do you all run on OEM 19's sized 255/275?

@ Engeljizzle: Which wheels are you running?

If you are not on the .5" wider Comp Package Style 359M Wheels, that may account for what you don't like about the feel. The added width may not be a win on the narrower forged 19s.

I love the 255/275 PSS Combo on my 2011 ZCP Sedan for the following reasons:

They stick like glue at the track (but respond best to lower pressures)
Rides better on bumpy PA Roads due to slightly taller sidewall
Helps correct Speedometer Error (taller O.D)
The Tires don't look "German Tuner Stretched" anymore.
The PSS tires practically defy physics in the wet and rain

I do wonder if you had enough miles on them as well.

Remember, tire sidewall is part of the tuning of the suspension!

I accepted a long time ago that BMW M Engineers likely do most things for a specific reason... So I figured that if I was going to screw around with the tire sizes, the mild 10mm increase front and rear keeps things in proportion.

I also recall that a former BMW NA M Brand Manager told us at the M3 Launch that all their E9X M3s on 18" wheels (in the hands of test drivers) were always faster than those they tested with the blingy 220M 19" wheels. The 19" wheels were a fashion demand, not a function demand.

However, the 19" 359M "Comp" Wheels have an "easter egg" with the extra 1/2" of width that makes the 255/275 setup pretty much ideal.

It puts a bit of "square" sidewall compliance back into the assembly.
