Seriously? The S5 isn't even in the same league. You'd have to look at a RS5 at the least.

funny OP started this thread. the other day i pulled up beside a S5. his plate was "BM WHATTT" kinda made me laugh. did he really think there are no M3's in Toronto.

Having owned an 6MT S5 a couple years back, as well as tracked both it and my 6MT M3, from a driver's enjoyment standpoint, the M3 delivers a lot more. It's a much more athletic feeling car, more visceral, more tossable, engine note, etc, etc, etc. I am very happy to have the M, but still at little verklempt at times thinking of my old Pcar.

Sadly, I think the S5 with the JHM short shifter was a little smoother than the M3 with the current SS I have installed... and thats kind of inexcusable from the M division IMO.

And I am not a BMW fan boy- I pick based on what moves me- but M3 if you're a driver.

Also- Why did i waste me time typing this?! F***in internet

I traded in my 2010 S5 after only 5,100 miles after test driving a E92 M3... The S5 is more the gentlemans car. Its beautiful and th fit and finish is top notch but its a bore to drive and its numb...i was never once excited to sqeeze the gas peddle on the audi..the M3 on the other hand u floor the throttle just for the sound alone...if your a driver you look past the little things that audi does better...the best example i can give is my gf, who knows nothing about cars, liked my S5 more until the 1,200 mile break in on my M3 was done...now she understands which is the better car

Audi? their interior styling is trash, and their electrical systems are a nightmare. I know about 4 audi techs, all drive BMW's thooooo... nuff said.
