So they rotated your tires....I don't think that's going to harm you any.

When you go back to the dealer be sure to drive in reverse.

It happened on my Porsche once. Put a 305 in the front and a 255 on the back.. Was just sitting in the parking lot like that when I went to pick it up.. Couldn't believe my eyes.

The front and rear wheels/tires are different widths. Though I doubt the wheels will fly off I would imagine, at the very least, there could be a fair amount of tire rub if the OP makes a tight turn.

I take my car to the dealership for anything i dont want to / can't take care of. I totally trust my dealership.

As to whether or not he should get it towed, I assume that if he drove it home without a problem (which is also unclear, since he doesn't mention how he noticed the issue), he might be able to drive it back without an issue like rubbing the tire to the point that he needs a new one...or causing other problems to the car.

Just trying to be helpful.

I assumed only the competition package only had offset rear wheels. Learn something new everyday.

Going to the dealer for tires is just stupid. They charge a couple hundred more for tires that are the exact same as tirerack or discount tires offers. Then their installers are not dedicated tire people but rather techs that do a variety of things.

Why would you pay 200 bucks more for the same set of tires just because it comes from the dealer? If you like throwing away money send me 200 bucks and I will get tires shipped to you from tirerack for what you are paying.

Tires are one thing the dealer is not the best place for so before you criticize someone maybe investigate the issue. I have always had good luck at discount tire and their road force balancing has always been perfect with no rim damage.

Definitely Calgary BMW. I deal with Elisse all the time, she is really knowledgable. BMW Gallery's service is so crappy ( in my experience )

I meant changing tires, not buying tires from them. For chsnging tires I paid $45 + $5 (environmental fee) + tax

Agreed. If you don't notice any rubbing, just drive it back.

It's ok to drive the car, think about fitting a skinny space saver spare, just take it easy.

Should be fine I run 285's on my front as track wheels with only a 5mm spacer , just don't make any really sharp turns.

It wasn't about saving money. The last time I needed a tire I went to the dealer. Forget about getting ripped off, I had a crazy shake when going over 80mph only to bring it back 3 times and for them to tell me there is no problem. At which point I brought it to a local tire shop who fixed the problem and said the tire was completely out of balance.

I noticed it when I was washing the car and noticed the off sets were wrong.

I guess sh@t happens
