someone tell me how to shift plz

i have an 2011 e92 m3 with DCT, i always wanna have some fun with my friend's c63 and bentley continental GT, i often lose in a drag race, most reason is the start off lag from m3, and im not sure if i shift correctly, i use mdm, and setup everything to sport and sport plus, and always shift at about 8400 rpm, is that correct? or i need to change something?

Practice, practice and practice.

Here are the part# for the half shafts, you'll need these eventually!

And yes, you are wasting this car drag racing it. Although drag racing requires skill, it is not "driving"! Go to a track with your buddies, go around a few corners, and you will see the light...

My experience with dual clutch transmissions is limited to the M3, so Iím no authority. IMO, the clutch programming in this transmission is simply not compatible with the type of standing start acceleration required in drag racing. I suppose with practice, and assuming you had the Christmas tree start at a legal drag strip, you could get the launch program timing down so it works well. But as others have said, as good as DCT is in many respects, you have found one of its weaknesses. But itís great on a road course, since the shifts are perfect and it frees your left foot for braking in all turns, regardless of shifting requirements.

Drag race and M3... yeah.

Looks like you need to learn how to drive. Get some driver skills and hpde classes.

Hint: you need as much weight as possible at the driving wheels, and you have EDC.

Hopefully, the new M3 will have the option of CVT for folks who can't use paddle shifters? They shouldn't be discriminated against!

Make sure you race in a parking lot so you can crash your M3 like your buddy with the Maserati did.

Turn off DSC. Turn off Power Button (power button makes it difficult to modulate the throttle). Increase manual shifts to S6. Power brake to 3K. Accelerate linearly to maintain traction. Shift at 8,200. Don't die.
